Magno

Alexander the great has been one of the most fascinating and influential characters of all times, a complex character, between the mortal and the divine. The original bust of Pierre II Legros, represents the imperial, combative Alexander, wearing a helmet wrapped in a lion skin in reference to the Macedonian army and Heracles.

This portrait explores the possibility of image as contact with something peripheral, something between the phonic aspect of the picture and us. The binocular bust roams between the fleeting and necessary, presents the vision of an absolute being that we stop looking to try to access it, crisscrossing the myth himself. Magno is the staging of an emotional drama between inner and outer.
